Took this photo while I was hiking in the Schönau am Königssee. I found this small pond above the Königssee lake and I couldn’t resist the view and stop there to take a few shots. There also were other hikers, so hey, I hope they don’t mind this shot 😉 (Click to see larger) Photo details: Nikon D800; 28-300mm f3.5-5.6; 1/500 sec at f/8; ISO 100. Took this photo while I was hiking in the Schönau am Königssee. I found this small pond above the Königssee lake and I couldn’t resist the view and stop there to take a few shots. Luckily I had a tripod and an intervalometer so I could easily compose an HDR sequence with me in the shot 🙂 (Click to see larger) Photo details: Nikon D800; 18-35mm f3.5-4.5; 1/50 sec at f/18; ISO 100. Some time ago we went to Warsaw for a few days, to visit the best restaurant in Poland, Atelier Amaro. I’ve decided to use that opportunity to take a few photos in the city. It’s been a while since I was in Warsaw last time, and it’s changed quite a bit. I was really surprised how modern this city looks like. This photo was taken from the Palace of Culture and Science. I got there a bit too late and the sunset was almost over. It was so…

A few months ago we were on a photo assignment for Skylife Magazine (for Turkish Airlines) to Friedrichshafen. We didn’t spend much time there, it was just a weekend, but it was enough to see some nice places and check interesting restaurants. This is Graf-Zeppelin-Haus which also has a nice restaurant. At some point we stopped here for a dinner. Even though they were closing it already, the nice service let us order some food – they must have realised that we’re very hungry travelers 🙂 Very nice…

This is how the Cathedral in Strasbourg looks like from inside. Gothic architecture together with amazing lightning make this place worth visiting every time you are in Strasbourg. Also, tripods are allowed! 🙂 (Click to see larger) Photo details: Nikon D800; 18-35mm f3.5-4.5; 20 sec at f/16; ISO 100. More photos at http://andrzejolchawa.com

During our last trip to Strasbourg, we also decided to visit the area around, e.g. places like Colmar. There are many interesting places between Strasbourg and Colmar too. One of them is Monkeys’ Mountain (La Montagne des Singes), a park full of of Barbary Macaque species. We were walking the path when we noticed a couple of monkeys taking care of their baby. They were in the woods, quite far in the distance, luckily with 300mm focal length I managed to capture this amazing scene! 🙂 We definitely…

This photo was taken right outside of Füssen, Germany during one of our trip to Bavaria. We found this place when we were looking for a full mountain range view. The lake in front of you is called Bannwaldsee and in the background you can see the beginnig of beautiful Alps. I just finished shooting restaurant I had we had a dinner at, Au Pont Saint Martin, and were heading back to the hotel walking through this bridge. I didn’t bother to stop for a second knowing that I shot it already before the dinner. But then my wife said “honey, lights are on…”. Once she made me notice it, I had to shoot it cause the light was gorgeous. Oh, and by the way, if your wife says that to you, you know that you married the right…
