This is a pano made of 2 36MP photos merged together in Lightroom. Photos were taken in Strasbourg, France at sunset. Unfortunately the place from which these have been taken (Barrage Vauban) is closed at 19:00 and at this time of the year the best I could get was an early sunset. I’ll try to come back there during the winter time and take a shot at blue hour and night shots 🙂 (Click to see larger) Photo details: Nikon D800; 28-300mm f3.5-5.6; 1/50 sec at f/8; ISO…

This is still part of Au Pont Saint Martin restaurant, which is next to the main building. We were hoping to have out dinner there, but no way… apparently good client distribution is more important than level of client’s happiness 😉 (Click to see larger) Photo details: Nikon D800; 28-300mm f3.5-5.6; 10 sec at f/8; ISO 100. This photo was taken in one of the most beautiful areas in Strasbourg. It’s called La Petite France and it’s full of views like this one. (Click to see larger) Photo details: Nikon D800; 28-300mm f3.5-5.6; 1/15 sec at f/13; ISO 100. More photos at http://andrzejolchawa.com

This is how the Cathedral in Strasbourg looks like from inside. Gothic architecture together with amazing lightning make this place worth visiting every time you are in Strasbourg. Also, tripods are allowed! 🙂 (Click to see larger) Photo details: Nikon D800; 18-35mm f3.5-4.5; 20 sec at f/16; ISO 100. More photos at http://andrzejolchawa.com

During our last trip to Strasbourg, we also decided to visit the area around, e.g. places like Colmar. There are many interesting places between Strasbourg and Colmar too. One of them is Monkeys’ Mountain (La Montagne des Singes), a park full of of Barbary Macaque species. We were walking the path when we noticed a couple of monkeys taking care of their baby. They were in the woods, quite far in the distance, luckily with 300mm focal length I managed to capture this amazing scene! 🙂 We definitely…

I just finished shooting restaurant I had we had a dinner at, Au Pont Saint Martin, and were heading back to the hotel walking through this bridge. I didn’t bother to stop for a second knowing that I shot it already before the dinner. But then my wife said “honey, lights are on…”. Once she made me notice it, I had to shoot it cause the light was gorgeous. Oh, and by the way, if your wife says that to you, you know that you married the right…

This photo was taken in Strasbourg. It was the golden hour when I got to this spot (which is a weir), hoping that I’ll be able to shoot a sunset as well as the blue hour. Unfortunatelly, and that’s something I didn’t know, they’re shutting this place down at 19:00 (including the roof). So, having an upset guard behind my back, I took a couple of exposures and left without the blue hour shots. But, at least I got some nice photos at the golden hour which I’m…

This photo was taken at Cave Historique des Hospices during my visit to Strasbourg. I always wanted to photograph a wine cave with barrels, and that’s what I did, however, apart from that there was also this little corner with some very old tools. Obviously, this scenery was screaming for an HDR (which I don’t do very often). But this seemed to be a perfect opportunity. (Click to see larger)
